In order to preserve life on Earth, it is crucial to preserve life in the oceans. In fact, 50% of the oxygen we breathe is released by phytoplankton!
This mission is managed by the Marine Environment Education Department which works to inform, communicate and organise exhibitions and events in the aquarium itself as well as giving talks in classrooms across the region.
We frequently deal with topics like the importance of every living creature, the crucial role of sharks, the impact of global warming, the dangers of marine pollution, and much more besides.
We believe it is crucial to really understand the oceans and their role in maintaining the balance of life on earth, which is so vital to our wellbeing.
